Top 10 Training Songs - Part 2

A few weeks ago I posted my first of 3 top 10 playlists. It is now time for the 2nd.

Once again it was super hard to narrow it down but hopefully you find something you like here. As before I can't promise you'll agree with my musical tastes but every single one of these songs have left me in a gasping, sweaty heap on many occassions and have helped me push to new levels of intensity in my own training.

Enjoy!

I will be looking at compiling a 3rd installment to complete the trilogy of this theme but for the third one,

I need your help.

If you've got a favorite training song, one that is guaranteed to pick you up, write the name, artist and why you love it as a comment below, tweet about it to @trx_fitness or post your comment on our facebook fan page at http://facebook.com/trxsuspensiontraining. I will use all songs provided in a workout over the next month and then pick my favorite 10.  If I pick your song as one of the top 10, I will give you a $5 gift certificate to the Fitness Anywhere shop.  I can't wait to hear what gets everyone out there moving!

I'll be posting a list of songs contributed below.

MARIN vs. FRASER

PART 1

Straight down from down under...so you better check yourself before you wrack yourself.

I picked all the Australian and New Zealand artist (besides the last song), something that could be new but I know you will all like.  Jump on I Tunes and listen to previews.  I guarantee you will love them.

I will test the waters and if you guys want PART 2 I will bring it.

Enjoy

One of my all time favorite workout songs is “Ladies and Gentleman”, which I actually stole from you a few years ago, but you took that one.

My second favorite is “What I’ve Done” – very good for imagry while working out.  Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Kill Bill by Hotei Tomoasu

I love the “I’m about to kick your ass” (or in this case, “I’m about to kick my own ass”) intensity of this song.  The buildup in the beginning is familiar and powerful.

2. Whirl-y-Reel 2 by Afrocelt

This song was described as sounding “like a party at some global crossroads” and I think that pretty much sums it up.  It took me a few listens to warm up to it, but now it really helps me dig deep.  My favorite part is the percussion and heavy synthesized beats in the middle.

3. Crawling by Linkin Park

As a log roller, I can never go wrong with lyrics like, “Keep rollin’, rollin’, rollin’, rollin” but I don’t see why that cannot motivate others as well.  I also love how these bad ass lyrics remind you to “Breathe in now breathe out.”  It’s a bummer when my class participants forget to breathe, they can always use a reminder.

But WARNING- the F-bomb is dropped a few too many times to make this one “health club” class appropriate.  I forgot to take it off my playlist for one of my 6am TRX boot camps and I had some less than thrilled participants.  Well, at least the old boring people…

4. Everybody by the Backstreet Boys

Hey, at least I limited my BSB and Britney obsession to only one song on this list.  “Everybody” is a classic and the build up and explosion in the middle is GREAT for intervals.  Plus it brings back childhood (okay, okay, AND CURRENT) memories of my BSB hysteria.

Love this playlist! Thank you!

I must add one of my favorite driving tempo songs: Indestructible by Disturbed.  I think it is just all around hard to beat!
