If it feels like it is a stopper for you, try regressing all the way to Suspended Pushups or even Kneeling Suspended Pushups as you build the requisite upper body and core strength. If you are just on the edge of being able to perform the exercise you will likely need a step between the Suspended Pushup and the full on Suspended Press. Enter the regression featured in the video below.

Learn how to perfrom this extremely challenging exercise from its most difficult position with a few simple steps. Remember that as fatigue quickly builds in this exercise, it is easy to regress back to doing the movement with a foot on the ground, then to the Canadian Divebomber and then back to ever shallower versions of the Suspended Pushup.

If you have already mastered the Suspended Side Plank from your hand and are ready for a serious challenge, give this advanced exercise a try.

The movement requires tremendous core stabilization and control to perform with good technique, along with a high level of upper body strength and coordination. Have fun with this, one of the ultimate strength exercises on the TRX.

Well - aside from the mandatory uphill approach with pack full of climbing gear to get to their favorite crag, constantly working to pull your body weight up by your finger tips on ever steepening ground does not reward those with extra cushion.

Pull ups are one of the most difficult exercises for many to master. They are challenging at the best of times and can certainly be discouraging when you first set your mind to overcoming the pull up hurdle. Cyclist, Fitness Writer and TRX enthusiast Andrew Vontz has created a cool video to show how to use the TRX to help anyone progress to doing full and free pullups. Thanks Andrew!

international travel. I travel for work, but I also take a lot of trips for fun. I always take the TRX with me so I can stretch after the long flights and work out during my stays. Recently, my wife and I went to Zambia in Africa for a two week safari. It was amazing! Friends of ours from New Zealand run a luxury lodge there so we were able to go to places where many other tourists can not. The first afternoon we were there we went out on a game drive and came across a pride of 15 lions. We parked the open-top land cruiser and watched the sun go down as the lions and their cubs played about 10 feet away from us.

After the sun set, our guide got out the spot light so we could try to find some lions or leopards hunting. Within ten minutes we came across another pride of lions feasting on a buffalo. This time we got within six feet of the lions! And this was just the first day! That night elephants, hippos, lions and hyenas passed right through our camp so sleeping was out of the question.

The next day, I was still amped up from the day before and all the excitement of being in the middle of the African bush. I thought it would be a good idea to do a bit of stretching and a light workout to help me reset my internal clock, recover from the jet-lag and try to relax a bit. I grabbed my TRX and secured it to a tree, making sure there weren’t any snakes in the branches or scorpions underfoot. I was a bit nervous at the start as I was continually looking over my shoulder for wild animals. However, as I got more into the workout I began to relax and my body started to loosen up. As I was about halfway through my workout my wife came over to say hello. As she approached, another visitor also appeared. A giraffe had come down to the river to get a drink. Not the usual workout crowd I thought!

Every time I used the TRX in Africa I had different wild visitors and each day my workouts became even more revitalizing and relaxing.

 <a
