    My Clients Success Story

    Hey all I wanted to share this incredible story of one of my young 15 year old clients and working with the TRX. I've included pictures, but since it will only allow one pic at a time, please view the continued post for the after pic.  Here's the story:

    Paulina started out with the goal to just lose some weight, but after interviewing her and discovering that her passion was swimming.  I encouraged her to not only to lose the weight but also to start swimming again, which she stopped before because of exercise-induced asthma due to an increase in weight.
    I was determined to help Paulina not only reach her goals, but to gain the confidence she lacked to perform at the top her sport. I developed a workout plan, which integrated balance work, endurance training, and strength using the TRX.  We started off slow, learning flexibility exercises first, and then gradually working into strength exercises at a low intensity.  Eventually, the weight started to come off, and Paulina found the routines getting easier, so we progressed her onto more intense plyometric exercises on the TRX, as well as swimming specific exercises.
    After 4 months into training, Paulina faced swim try-outs… and she made the team!  She had an awesome season, swimming butterfly, and medley events, and eventually made it into regionals!
    After all was said and done, Paulina lost 44 pounds, made the swim team, is no longer bothered by exercise induced asthma, and is looking forward to incorporating the TRX into future workouts.

    “I am so glad I decided to get a personal trainer. It's helped me lose so much weight and feel really good about myself. I now absolutely love to workout and have a healthy lifestyle, and I owe it all to my awesome trainer Hayley! Her workouts with the TRX are always fun and challenging and have gotten me into such good shape. Thanks for everything Hayley! “

    Wow, awesome, what a change!

    Good job! You and Paulina did great!! It looks like she lost more than 44lb of fat and gained some muscle mass.

    I wish I had taken some before photos. Since the changes are gradual it's harder to appreciate them fully.

    Re: My Clients Success Story

     I like that your first step was to focus fitness on something that Paulina loved to do! This ties in with an article that Jonathon Ross wrote on Fitness Values-tying our goals to something positve.  Can't get more positive than having fun!  Whenever people ask me what is the best type of exercise to lose weight, I always recommend doing what they love.

    There was some discussion on the boards earlier about using the TRX for kids or teens. This is a great story to share about the benefits of TRX with that age group. Did you incorporate any other exercise modalities for resistance and flexibility training or just TRX exclusively?

    Congratulations on you and your client's accomplishments.   Undoubtedly, you've given your client the gift of health and fitness that will hopefully last a lifetime.

    Re: My Clients Success Story

    Yes, definitely a great story. She looks fantastic!

    It is truly motivating and inspiring to see success stories such as that. It is a positive reminder to us all the sometimes question our gradual results from our efforts that it always pays off. I know I sure don't see much change myself from my workouts from April but others comment on how much weight I'm losing and the sort.

    Thanks for sharing that story! Big Smile

    Oh, and just an FYI, but in order to get multiple pictures, instead of uploading them, just go into HTML mode of the post editor (there is an HTML "button" to the far right of the top of the editor), and then use HTML <img> tag, and have the image stored externally say on your website, or flickr, photobucket, etc..., and then use the src="" parameter inside the <img> tag to point to the URL of the image. And make sure to include a slash / to the right hand side of the img tag so like <img src="..." />.

    Make sure to put the <img> tags under any paragraph or <p> tags as you will see. The </p> means thats the end of that paragraph.

    Anyway, if you have any questions, let me know. Smile

    So here is what it should look like with those specific pictures:

    <img src="http://community.fitnessanywhere.com/forums/storage/79/2875/Paulinabeforepic2007.jpg" />

    <img src="http://community.fitnessanywhere.com/forums/storage/79/2876/PaulinaAfterpic.jpg" />

    <img src="http://community.fitnessanywhere.com/forums/storage/79/2877/PaulinasRegionalSwimComp2008.jpg" />

    Which placed in HTML mode, would show you the images as so:

    Hope that helps! Big Smile

    Thanks,

    Justin
