    No Yo Yo-ing

Meet Ian, Director of Ecommerce and Online Marketing.  The holiday workload put a damper on his regularly scheduled fitness regimen and his coffee breaks turned to cookie breaks.  Working at a fitness company, there is this underlying pressure that you must be in top shape based on the fact you have access to what you consider the best piece of equipment for a total body workout (and fellow fitness enthusiast colleagues to keep you motivated).

As the January Fitness Resolutions were being made around the country, Ian decided he would jump on the bandwagon and see if he could start the New Year off with a new fitness goal…lose 20lbs.  We are one month in and Ian is on his way.  Here are a few quick stats:

LBs lost to date: 11 in 31days

Challenge: Finding a workout he liked and sticking to it.  Having tried almost every piece of fitness equipment in the gym and out I can honestly say the TRX is an incredible product and the classes at the TRX Training Center keep my workouts challenging and fresh.

Support:  Buddy system.  Recruit friends to workout with and share meals with.  Having someone to workout with keeps you motivated and honest.

    Cravings: Chocolate and cheesy pizza.

Substitutions that surprised you: Vegetables instead of carbs-thanks to the easy to follow recipes in the Gourmet Nutrition cookbook, it inspired Ian to try different spices and different ways to have some fun with greens.

Key learnings: “Be realistic about your progress and time frames. As much as we wish things would happen as quickly as they do on TV, a healthy lifestyle is a work in progress.  This year I am not putting a time limit on my goal.  I am going to take it off and keep it off the right way - hard work and healthy living.”

What the future entails: Stay on target.  No yo-yoing…Take 20lbs off and keep it off!
