    Geek Fitness

I travel for work--I have to drag my luggage, computer case, and gym bag through airports, catching connections, shuttles, hotel rooms, and then back again. On site I have to flip the geek ninja skills. To do these things I need strength, focus, and peace of mind that can only come from regular physical activity. Stress release, personal time, returning to center - these are just a few things I call my workouts. They are the platform from which I make good things happen - for myself, my family, and my customers.

Ah yeah, that'd be me! I'm 'mrxinu' on twitter, but we have a 'geekfit' account that will re-tweet folks' accomplishments when they tag them with #geekfit. Here's a professional blurb I wrote last week for an "instructor bio" that hits the high points: http://tinypaste.com/6214ec2

    LOL

Right on. So you're basically an all around IT mutt like myself then, just with more years under your belt! Wink

Not sure if you're in to Ruby at all, but wrote a Ruby BMI calculator and a Protein intake calculator I just had some fun with you if you want them. Nothing special, just Ruby shell apps. Could've easily wrote them in C++ if I wanted to, but thought screw it, saved about 20 lines of code with Ruby... Stick out tongue

I have an uncle that lives un in Vancouver. Maybe the next time I go up to visit him, we can meet up. Big Smile

    Re: Geek Fitness

Ah right on! I dabbled with a little ruby when rails first became popular and went through that book Agile Web Development with Rails. It was definitely tasty, but not a language I was able to convince my employer at the time to let me write anything in. I would dig seeing what you did with the BMI calculator, most definitely. A meetup would be excellent. I travel a lot too so if I'm out your direction that would work too. Pick your protocol - I'm on all of them: http://stevenklassen.tel.
