Nutrition: Key To a Successful Life

We all know that working out is important to stay strong and fit, but some people seem to forget about eating right as well.  With both good nutrition and a workout plan a person can have a better life to live, and are the keys to success.  What do you think is one important food that people should be eating? One food a person should be eating is anything with whole grains because of the fiber within it.  Fiber is important for a person and needs to be in their diet.

One world, one body, one mind, one soul,
Being kind to these is the goal,
Living a healthy and full life is great,
Even if a person started late,
It's okay as long as you don't procrastinate,
So get out there and do it.

Quick disclaimer,  I'm just a schmoe who likes to read stuff.  I have no degree in nutrition, micro biology or any sciences for that matter.  This is completely my humble opinion.  Once again... I read a book.

Quinoa is what seems to be all the rage now a days!

Quinoa is a up and coming food that is very good for a person and their health.  I had heard of it before since I'm a nutrition major at school.  I have never tried it either so I would not know what it tastes like and one day I hope to try it.

John Berardi speaks very highly of it also. It provides various nutrients and such in high amounts.

A very good book I think we should all read is called "The Metabolism Advantage" that John Berardi wrote. It gives excellent insight on nutrition, plus good supplements, and strategy on metabolic conditioning.

I have quinoa quite often. Quinoa is the only grain that has high enough amounts of all the essential amino acids that it is considered to be a complete protein. You can find it in most grocery stores and in any health food store. It comes in white or red varieties and takes about 20 min to cook. Use it as you would rice. It's also gluten free. Quinoa, black beans, corn, a little oil & vinegar - yum.

That's right, it includes all the amino acids in it. I knew there was something unique to it, but I couldn't quite remember what it was. Stick out tongue
