How to shorten length of TRX

I have just purchased the TRX X-mount and installed it on my ceiling and now I am finding that the TRX length is a bit too long.  If I wrap the main connector strap over the X-mount a few times it shortens the length however I am finding that when I exercise the straps squeeke and make a lot of noise, is there another way to make the adjustment?

This is something that I've done that seems to work.  I'll definitely check it out and see if it is kosher and let you know, but for the time being...

What I've done is looped the hanging strap through the X mount, brought it down and under the black loop and then connected the carabiner into one of the carabiner loops.

Once again... I'll let you know if this works with the physics of the TRX, but it will definitely shorten it up for you and it has worked great for me.

nathanmcgee I tried your approach and it worked but it was a bit short,  but I also noticed that you can separate the straps at various intervals and I am assuming that these can be used to loop the carabiner and shorten the TRX.  Again I am not sure if this is what it was designed for and how much weight in can handle but when I played around with it today it seemed to work well.

Yes.  Each sewed off "section" of the TRX is there to loop the carabiner through and designed to be sturdy.  I verified the method I had explained earlier with Randy Hetrick, founder and inventer of the TRX training system (he should know) and he said that method should work.
