    Re: Whats your fitness goals?

Ok, so my wife has hopped on board, and got serious with her fitness.

She told me she was bored with her workouts, so I took time to write some creative circuits for her to get her excited an keep her motivated. I took her through the first circuit yesterday, and it went exceptionally well.

I used bodyweight exercises, TRX, Jumprope, Perfect Pushups, and Exercise Balls to accomplish cardio, strenth, and metabolic conditioning, and flexibility.

    She loved it! Big Smile

So after the workout, I had her set a goal for herself. She set a goal to lose 75 lbs in 1 year. Very reasonable, so I think she will have no problem accomplishing the goal if she sticks to it.

I started a new category on my blog for her to track her progress as well. And wrote a post to start it off, if you're interested, it's at:

    Thanks,

    Re: Whats your fitness goals?

My fitness goals are a little weird. In high school I boarded with a family and put on so much weight that my mother didn't recognize me because I was too fat to be her son hopping of the plane. Since then I have struggled with weight, even though I have consistently played rugby at a pretty decent level. In fact an additional part of my weight gain was due to my coaches encouraging me to put on weight. It has been 10 years and although I peaked at 260#, I have since integrated TRX, Olympic lifting and high intensity interval sprints to get and down to 210# and stay there for 2 years. My only problem is that the people I compete against in rugby are all 250+ in my position and my coaches gave me the challenge of putting on my weight; since during last season i dropped to about 203# by seasons end.

So my goal is to increase lean body mass to take my weight to 218-220# and decrease my bodyfat percentage to below 12%. My goal is to increase my mass without affecting my endurance and agility which is my edge over the bigger opponents that I play. Just in case you were wondering I play at anywhere in the front row. I prefer hooker, but an equally adept at packing down at loosehead or tighthead (yea, chuckle at the names, but then ask yourself...do I really want to laugh at the men at the front of a rugby scrum??)

Sports do not build character. They reveal it. - Anon.
