    Some details on the video...

This is one of our favorite types of workouts with the TRX. We each take turns choosing an exercise until we have both completed 20 different ones (plus a couple of warmup sets). We have been doing a set number of reps per exercise but it could also be done by time if you choose. This is fun way to structure a session because we never know exactly what is coming next, and neither of us can simply choose the exercises that we enjoy or find easy! It is similar to what you could accomplish with the TRX Fitdeck if you were training solo.

Gosh, I love it when girls in bikinis talk about knots and stuff!

BTW, that looks like the pulleys they sold in the 70's that hooked onto your doorknob- you would lie on your back and bicycle!  The pulley got so hot you couldn't touch it!

Please accept apologies for the obvious (and cheap) sexist comment in my prior post.

    Re: TRX at anchor

First of all, I think that Michael's video is really well done.  I didn't see it until after I posted my video in a sailing forum and was directed to it. Both Michael and his wife are studs, not only for being in great shape but for the awesome trip they are taking on their catamaran.

In response to Larry, the pully is a Harken Sailing Block, not a cheap plastic pulley.  "Cheap" sailing blocks...yes, those designed to withstand the load of wind in the sail, will handle loads of over 900 lbs.  This is not your mother's cheap 70's exercise pulley.

I do enjoy the TRX and use it with my clients for both rehab and fitness.  I have endorsed the TRX directly to celebrities at the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament (www.tahoecelebritygolf.com).

I added the aspect of the pulley to add variation and to incorporate some of the Pilates based work they were doing in the clinic on the Pilates aparatus (the reformer, in particular).  In that respect, it does add a bit more flexibility to the workout.  I have been doing this with my patients for sometime...we just happened to be on vacation so I thought it would be fun to post it with us actually doing it on our boat.

Ada, I hope I didn't offend you with my reference to the doorknob pulley that was around 30-40 years ago, and probably put together in someones garage and sold via the back pages of a comic book!

It was a silly device with no real functional value, sold to dopes like me who actually believed we would look like Charles Atlas while working out for only a few minutes per day!

    Re: TRX at anchor

    Hey Mike,

Great video !!  I was actually thinking about using the TRX as a way for my wife and I to spend some time together.....

...maybe go very brisk walk, or a bike ride.....(nope, we don't have a dog).....then find a convenient spot to "anchor" the TRX, and take turns doing exercies.....like in your video !!  We won't have the same view though -  WOW !!! Stunning !!

we have 3 kids, very active in sports, and their schedules keep us so busy, like 2 ships in the night.....we hardly have time to talk...we actually have to send each other text msgs to communicate and may even do that more than converse in person !!!

So I am going to bring this up to her for a weekend / morning activity before the kids wake up.....

When I have time, I will also check out your zerotocruising thing - sounds like a very interesting project you are embarking on!!

I had family in Kingston area years ago, and I know you live near beautiful waterways - lucky!!!

    Take care,

    w
