    Suspended incline press

    Hi there

Just started out using the TRX for about two weeks now, I have a question re the suspended incline press - when I do them I can generally only get 2-3 at this stage before my legs start wobbling and I fall over. I do a couple of sets like this and then revert to one leg on ground. If not trying to do press (just staying still) I can hold the position without problems but once I move my legs tend to fall to one side.

Is this purely due to a lack of core strength to keep my body straight while doing movement or am I doing something wrong? If, as I presume, it is due to lack of strength, I assume it will get better the longer I do the exercise?

    Thanks

    James

    Re: Suspended incline press

Hey man. I've had mine for about 2 months now and had the same issue when I first started. Mine was core strength at first but then I noticed when I went to push, the straps were pulling. I moved myself to where I was exactly in line with the anchor point and it helped out a lot.

I agree. Definitely make sure you are centered with the anchor point. That makes a big difference.

On the other hand, for those who want to make it tougher, perhaps they could deliberately position themselves a bit off center to increase the lateral stress??? Might have to try that!

You guys are right on, be sure that you are centered to the anchor point, so that the TRX doesn't pull to one side.  And once you are centered, if you continue to fall to one side, you probably need to work on core strength.  Side planks, and planks with body saws are going to help you to get stronger!  Keep on suspending!

    Hope this helps,

Thanks everyone for your feedback, it has made it much better but still need to do more work on core also.
