    Planes of motions exercises videos

It would be great if you guys made clips of different planes of motion exercises? I would like to see exercsies that use Sagittal plane, Frontal, and Transverse. Would this be possible?

Re: Planes of motions exercises videos

I know we've laid out a number of exercises in motion in the transverse plane, and I listed a couple in the coronal (frontal) plane.

However sagittal isn't a plane, it'd be midsagittal, but that's impossible to work in a motion in the midsagittal plane because of the ribcage and pelvis. However you would have lateral movements which would be focusing on your sides like obliques, hips, etc...

But just out of curiousity as I asked in the other thread, what is the purpose or nature of this sort of request in regards to planes?

Re: Planes of motions exercises videos

Exercises that occur in the transverse plane incorporate rotation around the body (think of a spinning top).

    A few examples would be:

    1.  Upper Body

    - Chest Press/Chest Fly

    - Power Pull

    2.  Lower Body

    - TRX Cross Over Lunge-similar to the Balance Lunge but instead of moving the leg straight back, the leg moves back and crosses behind the grounded leg

    - Suspended Lunge with Medicince Ball woodchop or rotation

    3.  Core specific:

    - TRX High Rotation

    - TRX Suspended Oblique Crunch-similar to the Suspended Crunch but you pull both of your knees towards your elbow, alternating from one side to the other

You can view videos of the above exercises  on the video library on the website.  There are also several DVD's and downloads that address tennis, golf, surfing, multisport and team sports.  Good luck!

Also, check out the following article on planar training: http://community.fitnessanywhere.com/blogs/articles/archive/2009/06/20/planar-training.aspx

    Good Luck!
