Coming up with a workout plan

I have bought the TRX and these DVD's listed below.

All Body Express,  Essentials : Strength,  Essentials : Flexibility,  Biomechanics : Healthy Back,  Essentials : Cardio Circuit,  Boot Camp Ropes & Straps,  Force Training.

Now I am trying to incorporate them into a 4 to 5 day a week work out plan.  I was thinking like All Body Express one day a week,  Stength one day,  Flexibility one day,  Healthy back one day.  But after looking at the plan not sure if its the best way to use all the DVD's.  I also run and road bike 6 days a week for cardio.

It would be great to hear any sugestions from you pro's with TRX out there.

     Thanks in advance

Re: Coming up with a workout plan

    Hi Terry,

Welcome to the community! Big Smile

My first question is, what is your athletic ability level? Because I don't really want to make suggestions that will cause you to burn out and such.

Now, the flexibility DVD, I would really suggest doing that everyday either by itself and/or as a cooldown. What I usually do, is I'll do strength training twice a week, metabolic conditioning twice a week, cardio and stretching everyday. I go through the flexibility circuit in 1 set instead of 2 sets most days when I'm also doing strength/metabolic conditioning, and the full 2 sets on my cardio/stretching only days.

And where are you planning on doing all the workouts? At home?

Depending on how well trained your muscles are will really depend on how you want to begin approaching your workouts on the TRX. For me, when I first started using the TRX, I just did the All Body XPress workout 3 times a week, and went hiking 3 times a week for cardio. That gave me a chance to get my muscles trained adequately. And then I ramped it up from there.

Regardless, I would definitely suggest doing some jumproping daily as a warmup/cardio in addition to other elements you may want to incorporate.

    Thanks,

    Justin

Re: Coming up with a workout plan

       Hi Justin,

Thanks for the reply,  Right now I am going to be doing all the workouts in the garage.  Well until it gets to cold out I have the TRX dropped from the ceiling right now and lots of room.  As for fitness level I am really not sure since I have mostly been into cardio.  Road biking, running and walking 6-7 days a week.  I'll try the all body express and flexibility dvd to start and see how that goes.

      Thanks Again

      Terry
