Deciding to buy a TRX can seem hard whether it is the price that some seem to have a hard time dealing with...I mean they are just straps right? Straps that you have to depend on to hold you up and support your weight so you don't fall FLAT on your face!! It can be the constant questioning of whether or not you will have or find time to workout with the TRX......You can take it ANYWHERE and can use it while watching your favorite show if you want since we all have doors all over the house. This is only a couple of reasons to not buy a TRX at retail so where do you turn??? Ebay? Well I did, and so did a few others that have been posting around. If you buy from ANYONE else on eBay, you will get a FAKE TRX. Sure it looks real, comes in the same packaging with the DVDs, workout guides and the cool rubber stamped badges, but it is a knockoff. I didn't believe it at first, but after snapping some photos of the fake and having a moderator check the pics out he determined it was a fake! He in turn posted pics of an AUTHENTIC TRX for me to look at and the differences were obvious! I had been a victim of an internet crime!! Though the seller THOUGHT they were original he too later removed the auction and is battling with his supplier to return the left overs. I have since gotten a refund and just placed an order for the FORCE TRX. I am the same as anyone looking for that better deal, but there are certain things that I guess you need to look at when paying FULL price for a TRX such as personal safety, the money you will save in Gym memberships, convenience, and overall support from not only the product, but the company! They are great people who offered to help me get my money back for the fake TRX I received from the so called third party supplier.

What is our main reason for shopping ebay???? Convenience, you can get a hell of a deal on a lot of stuff, and my favorite thing.....POSITIVE FEEDBACK as a buyer/seller! So, next time youare buying something that is going to get you in shape then make sure it says one thing in the add or you can get the seller to email you confirmation that the product is AUTHENTIC. Paypal will protect your purchase, but if you use just a credit card and try to get you money back because of a Counterfeit or Knockoff product then you will need to have a copy of the AD and or the email containing the sellers claim that the item is AUTHENTIC. trust me.......I almost had to take my FAKE TRX to a sports store to have them write a letter stating the item was defective because I could not get a refund because ot was not authentic since it was not advertised as such!! Fun stuff. Another thing you can do if you do get "ripped off" on ebay is report the seller on eBay, paypal, and www.ic3.gov which is a way to report internet crimes.,...even counterfeit items being sold on eBay. (I was given that site by a paypal rep!)

While the prices are basically the same as on the online store here, at least you can know you are getting the real "SAFE" deal!!

A friend of mine was going to buy one on E-bay.  I let her know about the fakes and what was being said here.  She took it to heart and picked up the home bundle from FA directly.  I think we saved her from a head ache, so to speak!

 
Absolutely!!! Probably in more than one way since she might have smacked her head on the ground when using the fake, but there seems to only be legit ones left on there. A few used FORCE systems, but you never know. I don't think that there was an issue that has come up with a fake FORCE??

 I think that is why they are running too!! Nothing to do with possible multi million dollar lawsuits for copywright and fraud charges!! LOL!

I too just purchased one  - and not from FA, but from a local guy on Craigslist.... he SAID he had buddy who is a Personal Trainer who also works at a high gym, and was ordering directly from FA in bulk (and of course getting re-seller price) ....so the guy I bought from ordered one for himself and a bunch to resell.....as part of the bulk order....

To be honest...I am actually very satisfied...it works great...I believe it is the real thing...

I looked at your pictures...

Mine seems to work fine..no slippage...the kit feels very hefty...comes with Express disk in a carboard sleeve (not DVD case), and no fold-out plastified chart but instead a spiral bound version of the same.....

Mine did come with an insert that says, register your product and double your warranty...but it doesn't have a serial nbr or box code...so how does anyone know if it is real or fake.....

Do you still have the pictures from FA that helped you see the differences ??  Just to know if I will soon land on my face .... or worse !!

PS  I hope you get your TRX soon, and get on the road to re-habbing your injury....I know it's a bummer....I am struggling with both knees and it is getting in the way of my hockey...and I have probably had to give up Tae Kwon Do too ... been off a year... Weight starting to creep up, and I am looking for ways to combat that ...which is how I came across TRX

 If the trainer said that he ordered directly from FA then you may be able to find out by contacting them because you want  to know if yo+u have the real thing.......They may be able to assist.

I am not sure what comes in the REAL deal packaging, but you may be okay if there are warranty/registration cards. Another good question for customer service I would think.

Thank you, and yes it is a bummer, but I get to play plenty of PS3!! LOL!! They weight isn't piling on too fast and that is probably from crutching around and one leg hopping around the house, and scaling the stairs in my house (3 story)!!! I will be getting my TRX on Monday from UPS....CAN'T WAIT......but of course I will have my surgery that same day which will probably keep me sitting in the basement playing Call of Duty for a couple days! I am eager to get going with it to see what I can do with it and the changes I can make in the 2 months I will be unable to use my left leg!

Good luck with your knees, and I hope you can get back to playing again! I injured my right knee before and that is no fun at all either!

 Get this!!! I posted a small warning on the eBay forums about watching out for fake fitness equipment....mainly the TRX, and eBay freakin removed it! That seems a little rediculous!

FORCE will be here on MONDAY!! Can't wait!! But then again it is the same day the doc will cut my leg open and fix it.......not looking forward to that!

But, the one that sticks out is that there are 2 "Professional" Tags on the straps on the knock off.  The authentic TRX system has one Professional tag and one TRX tag.

I am going to request that this thread be locked up. I feel there is more than enough info on the community regarding FAKE TRX systems that going into more detail regarding the way the fakes are produced would only give the counterfeiters ideas on how to improve their FAKE version of the product from Fitness Anywhere.

The best advice that can be given on this subject is that if you did not get the system from FA.com then you probably have a 99,9% chance that you have a fake.

Anyway, I hope this helps save some face for people....literally!!

P.S. - I have reported a few items on ebay as fakes and they were removed within a day or two after ebay contacted the seller......there are a few real ones on ebay, but buy direct so you can have a warranty and the support from FA.
