    Soreness

I just started the military program. I started on week 5 and did Day 2 first.   The tops of my feet and my shins are a little sore.  Is that because its working my body differently.??

    Re: Soreness

Shins and feet would indicate a problem with running in my experience. With the TRX it was pretty common for me at the beginning to feel some discomfort where my feet were in the cradles in suspended exercises (either done barefoot or in socks). Are you on a running program? Have you had shin or foot problems in the past? Did you do the suggested run for D2 of W5?

I am on a running program. Im active military. I am bout to start to the running program in the Military Program.  Just to see what happens.  I thought that my feet were sore cause of the Suspension training.  Nah, I havent had any problems in the past.  Do you know if any one has actually had good results doing this program on there military Physical Training Tests?

    Re: Soreness

As military myself, I have not had to run a PFT since I got a TRX so I couldn't say.

    Re: Soreness

KT here.  I'm a retired SEAL and worked as an instructor for a couple of tours. When I first started using the TRX I had all kinds of aches, mostly because I was trying to challenge myself too hard  right from the get go.  Which it sounds like you may have done starting at week 5.  I know some of the exercises don't appear real challenging.  For me it was my forearms that would get smoked doing the power pulls, but that didn't last long.

Right now your feet and shins are not used to holding up your bodyweight.  Ease your self into these workouts. Those pains will go away and your core strength will increase over time. And your experience on the TRX will rock.  Take your time and most importantly listen to your body.

As for the running program.  Ease yourself into that also. It rocks, but it's challenging.

    Re: Soreness

Yea, the soreness as mostly gone away. MOst of the soreness now is in the muscles.  But, its a good workout.  Some of the exercises are too easy so i may do more reps.  But, some are difficult.  It sucks that after years of lifting you find that your core is garbage lol.  But, I havent started the running program yet.  Im going to finish up my 5k program.  Then start it.  Since it has similar elements to it.

    Re: Soreness

Instead of more reps why not just make it so you have to use more of your bodyweight, build greater strength, rather than greater endurance which you'll be working on as the program progresses. If you have the DVD in the exercise library part it explains how better than text alone ever could.
