    My Swim Team Group

Let's talk about the youth that are benefiting from TRX training.  This summer, I had the opportunity to

train 4 elite youth swimmers.  These swimmers traveled to the Olympic Trials in Omaha Nebraska

earlier this month to cheer on the USA.  While too young and inexperienced to compete in the 2008 Trials, one of the

swimmers has his goal sheet placing him in the 2012 Trials.  I believe this young man will make

the trials, and our Olympic Team in 4 years.

These young swimmers trained with the TRX 2 to 3 times/week this summer.  At our final session

before Zones, these athletes had a lot of positive things to say about their training experience.  The

girls were proud of the new muscle definition they had achieved.  They were all so proud that they

could now complete a full prone suspended core series.  Each athlete felt certain that they could

move their bodies more efficiently having completed 6 weeks of TRX training.  They had become

    Believers.

These kids are 15 and 16 years old.  They are elite athletes.  They loved TRX.  I can't wait to

train with them again after they dominate the Midwest Zones.  Happy TRXing!!

Great story!!  Wish those kids good luck, the 2012 trials will be here before they know it!  I agree that the TRX is a fantastic way to introduce young athletes to the benefits of strength training.  My uncle was concerned over his young teen son's desire to start strength training (to keep up with the bigger kids in his football league) and the potential dangers of weight lifting at a young age.  The TRX will fill this gap perfectly.  Not only will it help develop functional strength- giving him an advantage on the field and reducing his chance of injury, it will help strengthen his core and develop proper form.  This, perhaps more than anything, will properly prepare him for more strenuous (and potentially dangerous) weight-lifting routines when he is older.  I don't know if there is anything better than this for starting kids down the road to a lifetime of healthy, safe, fitness!

Mia thanks for your post re your swimmers. It is just great to get this kind of feedback and our thoughts are with your kids as they watch the olympians compete this coming month and I'm sure stoke their own personal fires as a result. We'd love a photo of your group training with the TRX and please let us know if there is anyway we can help you as you guide them on their way.

Good luck and thanks again for your post!
