    Program comparison

what's the main difference between the military program and All Body Xpress? Or more personally for me: what program will suit me best, when I want to aim at general fitness and martial arts?

As far as I can tell, for my use it comes down to these 3: TRX Professional, TRX Force Training Kit and TRX Home Training Bundle. When it comes to hardware, the last 2 have a dooranchor. The real difference seems to be in the programs that come with those versions (All Body Xpress, Military and All Body Xpress+Core Strength, respectively). But that's as far as the comparison chart will help me out.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Some background info: I'm now 26, 6 ft 2, 80 kg (sry guys, don't know imperial weight ;)... I guess it's around 160 lbs ) I used to swim competively and started with martial arts at a way later age. Due to ankle-injuries I have been out of the loop for way too long, and I'm currently trying to get into shape again.... still, my joints are not the strongest. I don't want or need mass, I just want to get a lot stronger and fitter... safely. My biggest areas of  interest are my torso, and my back to make my posture better.

Based on what you have written above I think that the military program will be the right fit for you. The programming is much more complete as it offers a progressive routine that spans 12 weeks and includes a running / cardiovascular program that is integrated into the overall plan. As you have pointed out it comes with the door and suspension anchors so you will be set up from an anchoring perspective.

The DVD that comes with the FTK is also top notch offering 2 real time workouts and a full exercise library.

I hope that this helps you out.

I agree with Fraser; I've got the same stats (age, height, weight) and goals as you  and the military program has worked very well for me.  I actually have all three of those DVDs and while they are all suberb, I think that the military program offers a more complete workout for someone that already has an athletic background.  Also, as Fraser already stated, the fact that the military program has a laid out progression makes it easy to gradually work up to the point where you can start exploring on your own.  I started with the military program until I had a solid grasp of the exercises and the principles driving this awesome workout; from there it is easy and a lot of fun to make adjustments to your workout as you see fit.  Good luck, let us know how it goes!

    Re: Program comparison

I just pulled the trigger on the Home bundle - I figure that I can work through the 2 programs andl get back in decent shape, then I can buy the military program dvd to "polish up".  Like you, I want to get stronger and fitter in a safe manner.

Good luck with whichever program you choose!

    Re: Program comparison

Thanks for all your replies. Hearing your opinions it's still a bit hard to decide. You just gotta love how difficult I can make things for myself ;). I'm inclined to go with FTK now, although I will probably need to lower the intensity at the beginning. That shouldn't be that much of a problem, since I already have a decent understanding of mechanics, anatomy and training. But maybe I'm fine... it's just hard to ascertain my fitnesslevel, since I keep comparing myself to how "I used to be" :).

Next step: finding out where I can get one of these in The Netherlands (only found the Professional bundle so far), or finding out what the payment options are on this site (HINT: i love Paypal, since it saves me a lot of extra costs that come with international banking ;) ).  I'll keep you all posted.

    regards, Jan

Jan: The store on this site does ship overseas, i'm in the UK and they shipped to me. I don't know how much import taxes are in the Netherlands though. I can't remember if they take paypal or not though.

    Re: Program comparison

I've sent them an email concerning the payment options (I don't have a creditcard, so that makes it a bit more difficult). Let's hope and wait :)

That's pretty much what i did too. I had already booked a vacation to America when I saw Randy on Fox News, so i asked one of the people we would be staying with if they minded us getting it sent to them. Saved a lot of $.
