    Re: Surf Session

Yeah man, here the water is filthy. You can't see your hand if it's a few inches under the water. No way i'm going in that for fun.

I'm probably going to get to snowboard, ski and water ski well before i get to surf though. Casper area might have most things, but surfing isn't one. I thought they wouldn't have water skiing, but apprently they have it at Alcova lake, so Summer 09 or 10 i will be water skiing.

    Re: Not a good week

The last month has actually been rather rough on me as well. I am actually trying to finish strong for this challenge. I am sure with the amazing weather we seem to be having across the country people are out and about away from their computers.

Re: Track Your Progress: 31-Day Fitness Challenge

I'm back.  Life got in the way the last 10 days.  After finishing physical therapy my first offroad mountain bike ride in weeks was on the 13th.  That was followed the next day by moderate to severe back spasms (apparently the doctors are sometimes correct).  The spasms lasted several days.  That was followed by a couple days with a high fever (I blame the 9 year old for bringing that home from school).

I finally got back on the bike on Monday the 20th.  A nice hard 59 minute road ride on my mountain bike.  That was followed by a couple days of business travel - fun, fun, fun.  Tonight I finally got back to TRX.  I actually felt pretty good.  Reps were down a bit overall, but I think I can meet my goals by the end of next week.

    Tonight's workout:

3 minutes jumping rope - warm up.

    Circuit #1
    TRX Atomic Pushup - 17
    TRX Low Row - 18
    TRX Hip Press - 22
    TRX Postural Squat - 14

     Circuit #2
TRX Deep Chest Press - 16
    TRX Suspended Runner - 14/13
TRX Single Arm Row - 11/12
TRX Single Arm Postural Squat - 13/13

    Circuit #3
TRX Suspended Oblique Crunch - 14/13
    TRX Biceps Curl - 14
    TRX Hamstring Curl - 23
    TRX Y Shoulder Raise - 14

    Circuit #4
TRX Standing Chest Fly - 12
TRX Suspended Side Planks - 12/9 - getting better at these, though my left side is still weak & sloppy
TRX Single Leg Hip Press 14/16.
TRX Standing Back Extension - 10

I also shortened my rest period to about 20 seconds - enough time to adjust the TRX & reset my timer.

Re: Track Your Progress: 31-Day Fitness Challenge

I did trx military workouts this week, 3-4. I am slowly getting better on my pushups and side plank. I took a break from trx yesterday and did 1.5 hours of cardio.

Re: Track Your Progress: 31-Day Fitness Challenge

Finally, a real mountain bike ride.  3 hour + hours over 26 miles.  I was beat by the end.  Long climbs (for Texas), fast rocky downhills, temp in the mid-80's - a perfect day.  I rode Flat Rock Ranch for the first time (www.flatrockranch.net).  A superbly tiring day.  I was right on the verge of cramping by the end.  Finished up with cold Dos Equis.

Tomorrow I will get back on TRX unless the back spasms show up again.

    Re: Not a good week

    Monday's workout:

    Flexability work.

This week i'll just do mimicks of the test to build up my speed at the exercises.

I will do 30 of each exercise today so endurence isn't a limiting factor on Friday.
Atomic Pushup: did it in 5 parts. Doing it at high speed makes it a lot harder. Target for friday: 22+
Lunges: L: 3 goes, it got most difficult after the 18th one.  R: Same problem.  Target for friday: 20 each side.
Row: I did 30 in one go, so I kept going and managed 60 in one go. Target for friday: 30
    Hip Press: 2 goes, 25 & 5. Target for friday: 26
Postural Squat: 3 goes. My shoulders are suffering from this. Target for friday: 25

Also did about 120 jump rope jumps, 89 in one go.

Re: Track Your Progress: 31-Day Fitness Challenge

I am starting to feel good again. Not much soreness after yesterday's solid mountain bike ride.

     Tonight:

3 minutes of jumping rope for a warm up.

    Circuit #1
    TRX Atomic Pushup - 18
    TRX Low Row - 19
    TRX Hip Press - 23
    TRX Postural Squat - 16

    Circuit #2
TRX Deep Chest Press - 17
    TRX Suspended Runner - 17/16
TRX Single Arm Row - 15/16
TRX Single Arm Postural Squat - 16/16

    Circuit #3
TRX Suspended Oblique Crunch - 15/15 (30 seconds total

    TRX Biceps Clutch - 16
    TRX Hamstring Curl - 24
    TRX "Y" Shoulder Raise - 14

    Circuit #4
TRX Standing Chest Fly - 11
TRX Suspended Side Planks - 12/13
TRX Single Leg Hip Press - 17/18
TRX Standing Back Extension - 11

The rest periods are getting shorter.  I may go to 45 second sets for my next workout prior to my end of the month test.

I think I will meet and surpass both my TRX & time trial goals.
