Anyway, my question: is it better to locate near a wall or in the middle of the room? I'm thinking that a double joist location that would be 4 feet from the walls would be best, but I've not used the TRX much.

alternative anchoring

I travel, a lot. I spend lots of time in motels, ugh. It is difficult at times to find a suitable place to anchor my TRX. The layout of many motel rooms doesn't allow enough space to even use the door anchor! I found this to be true in my current location. The bathroom door that opened into the lavatory would have been suitable if it were not for a mere 4 feet of space in the entry. The room entry door opened into the room and use of the door anchor made me fear that the door was going to be pulled off the hinges!

I'm looking for a personal training management system for training my clients.

There are many software tools on the market but I don't see any as yet, that are flexible enough to incorporate the TRX kit.

Now the TRX suspension system is my main equipment of choice for training my clients, I was wondering what software management system does anyone use, in managing their clients. I need it to be flexible enough to show, exercises I create for individual/group client programs & also manage charging costs, calendering and more.

Can anyone suggest anything from their experience that could fit that framework please ?

I wanted to notify you all that as of today I am a Community Moderator. The guys at Fitness Anywhere are constantly busy making things happen, so we can continue to enjoy our TRX, and develop new training programs, and the such. So to fill in the gap there, I volunteered to help.

What I hope to do is make the Forums more efficient, so everyone can enjoy the Community site to its fullest extent.

Therefore, what I need from you is feedback along the way, so I can help make the experience more efficient and pleasurable. This includes anything from pending posts, to spam you see, to something that would arise of concern that should be addressed.

Send me a private message if:

You create a thread and/or post to an existing thread, and get the "Post Pending Moderation" message.

You notice that someone has posted spam on the forums.

You find a post containing a comment or content that could be derived as derogatory, abusive, inappropriate, or likewise.

You notice a double post from someone.

When messaging me about anything above except for post pending moderation, please first click on "Report" on that post in the lower right hand corner before sending me a message, so it's also tagged under reported posts beforehand. That allows me to go in and address them much faster that way.

As most of you know, sending private messages will send the recipient an e-mail notification. So anytime you private message me, I'll have an e-mail sent to me, so I'll know the next time I'm logged in to my e-mail (which is a good portion of the time). As most of us do, I work full time, and am out and about, so I'll address your concern as soon as I can. If it's something I cannot address alone that needs further discussion, then I will bring this up with guys over at Fitness Anywhere, and discuss it. In which case, I'll reply to your message letting you know that the matter is being addressed, and the sort.

I will be moving certain threads to other topics of the forums that are more relevant to the thread itself, so information is easier to find for everyone. Having a bunch of irrelevant threads tends to cause a clutter, and makes it harder to find something when you have to get around all this information that doesn't pertain to the topic at hand. If anyone has any questions regarding that, please let me know.

I hope to improve response times to various items, and make the whole user experience more enjoyable. So if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Thanks,

I did buy the TRX- X-mount for the new house as I wanted two points of contact with the wood as opposed to one big one from another eye hook screw. The thing is, the "ceiling" of the basement is the Silent Floor style wood joists. As a result, the I beam has a very narrow center part or particle board and the lower part of the i beam is thin in thickness also, so screws of any strength and length will go all the way through it. The narrowness of the vertical aspect of the i beam will make it hard to mount a decent sized screw into it, and I will have to be very precise, as I have a finished ceiling between myself and the Silent Floor joists. By pinching the vertical aspect of the wood beams, I would guess that I only have about 1/2 at the most of width of this part of the joist.

I could go into a wall stud, but I am not sure if that will be strong enough. I am pushing 245+ lbs.
