first off i will tell you a little about myself... i am 50 years old and out of shape...

iam a mess that what the doctor told that day that was a year ago in aug of 2008..i had passed out at work and woke up in the local hospital er that night..

i went to my own doctor and he told the same thing that i was told by the e.r .doc and he started me on high blood pressuse med along with a cholestrol meds also along haveing class one diabetes for he wanted to start me on meds,,,so i made a deal with my doctor if i could get down and it stay down for three months saight ..i would not have to go on the meds for the class one diabete meds ..i have been off sweets for almost 15 months now..

i now have the diabetes under control for now by walking along with eating right now ,, my work i spend a lot of time moveing in between jobs for the 8.hours that i.am at my job.. ..so it helps with keeping the weight off me and that help me with part of the wieght control problem .

.when i started this i was at the 380 wieght range about one year and three months ago....i am starting to feel that i have i hit the wall and i need to find something else beside walking to help me lose more wieght for iam down to 300 pds mark and can not get under that mark . i can walk to work which about a mile and half each way to and from work ..i the only time i drive the car is when i am going to the store after work on friday for the food and other items i need to get before going home for the weekend . i make the walk in about 25.mins time frame each way ... i walk down to blockbuster on corner which is about six blocks away from me and i walk down to the diff areas to pay bills on sat morning so i can get the blood flowing and get the wind up and get in the morning walk before going to the bed for the day..i work nights and sleep days..

at my work i have fallen twice at work and mess up my lower back up along with the shoulder and neck areas with a pinch typle nerve in right shoulder and neck and upper part of the arm area that what sent me to the hospital that night was the fall from the ramps at work ..plus my knees are shot from work and a military ..

so i have been looking for something that would low inpact and easly for me to use along with beening able to go to a groups workouts session for me to keep up with a bunch of older people workout group with a easly workout session for me ..

so tell me about the trx system and how does it help people with the basic core system and how does it work the body without a lot of inpact..and anything else you can tell me about the system ..

someone i know told about rideing a bike along with the trx system should get more wieght off my body and i should be getting better over the time with it..

Anchoring a TRX off a Perfect Pull-up bar?

Just wondering if anyone has tried this. Unfortunately the doors in my house are pretty flimsy particle board, and I don't trust them to hold my weight (even though I only weigh about 130lbs). So right now the only doorway I can use my TRX with is my front door, and my front entry way isn't the most ideal work-out spot.

I've been wanting to get a pull-up bar anyway. I have a dream of one day being able to do a pull-up or chin-up (don't care which) :-) Yea....just one....gotta start somewhere :-) I bought one of those 'Powergym' contraptions, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit around the large mouldings I have around all the doorframes in my house, so I gave it away. The Perfect Pull-up looks like it would fit my doorframes better.

So if I went and bought this, would it solve my two problems of getting a pullup bar into my doorframe AND being an anchor point for my TRX in a more convenient location? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I am new to the TRX and the boards. I recently purchased a TRX online......and while I did not get the system from Fitness Anywhere it is a legit product. I had an issue where the straps are slipping through the cambuckles so the product is not usable. I know this is a product directly from Fitness Anywhere because I have compared it to one ordered directly from them. I have heard other people have the strap/cambuckle issue so I know it is a common defect in the product. Well, i called customer support and I was dissappointed that unless you spend $200 on the product from Fitness Anywhere, the product is not warranted. I got the old "well there are a lot of counterfeit products out there." If I were going to copy the system, I would not make it exactly the same thread for thread! The people that I bought this from bought a bulk number of the systems directly from Fitness Anywhere and he is having trouble getting the defective one replaced!!

I have bought many products from stores that the manufacturer honors if there is an issue so, why the flack from Fitness Anywhere? If i were Fitness Anywhere I would at least have the customer send in the product and then make a determination on whether the product is fake and if it is then jump on the whole "counterfeit" conclusion.

I am not knocking the product at all because it is a great concept, and I read nothing but great things about the "PRODUCT." Why not start putting a small certificate of authenticity in the box so that if you do buy the product elsewhere the guarantee can be honored!! I could understand if I called and said a strap broke or something outrageous, but the straps are slipping which is a VERY common problem with the product!!

Anyway, once I get a working TRX, I will repost when I can start working out again. I recently broke my leg and I am looking forward to using the TRX to keep me on track to my goal of toning up and slimming down. Gonna be a lot of one legged workouts ahead of me!!!

Anyway, thanks for reading, and remember.....I am not knocking the product, just the monopoly that seems to have been set up by the company!

Straps that you have to depend on to hold you up and support your weight so you don't fall FLAT on your face!! It can be the constant questioning of whether or not you will have or find time to workout with the TRX......You can take it ANYWHERE and can use it while watching your favorite show if you want since we all have doors all over the house. This is only a couple of reasons to not buy a TRX at retail so where do you turn??? Ebay? Well I did, and so did a few others that have been posting around. The following link is the ONLY place on eBay that you can purchase a real TRX and get the product support that is expected: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/FitnessAnywhere__W0QQ_armrsZ1

If you buy from ANYONE else on eBay, you will get a FAKE TRX. Sure it looks real, comes in the same packaging with the DVDs, workout guides and the cool rubber stamped badges, but it is a knockoff. I didn't believe it at first, but after snapping some photos of the fake and having a moderator check the pics out he determined it was a fake! He in turn posted pics of an AUTHENTIC TRX for me to look at and the differences were obvious! I had been a victim of an internet crime!! Though the seller THOUGHT they were original he too later removed the auction and is battling with his supplier to return the left overs. I have since gotten a refund and just placed an order for the FORCE TRX. I am the same as anyone looking for that better deal, but there are certain things that I guess you need to look at when paying FULL price for a TRX such as personal safety, the money you will save in Gym memberships, convenience, and overall support from not only the product, but the company! They are great people who offered to help me get my money back for the fake TRX I received from the so called third party supplier.

What is our main reason for shopping ebay???? Convenience, you can get a hell of a deal on a lot of stuff, and my favorite thing.....POSITIVE FEEDBACK as a buyer/seller! So, next time youare buying something that is going to get you in shape then make sure it says one thing in the add or you can get the seller to email you confirmation that the product is AUTHENTIC. Paypal will protect your purchase, but if you use just a credit card and try to get you money back because of a Counterfeit or Knockoff product then you will need to have a copy of the AD and or the email containing the sellers claim that the item is AUTHENTIC. trust me.......I almost had to take my FAKE TRX to a sports store to have them write a letter stating the item was defective because I could not get a refund because ot was not authentic since it was not advertised as such!! Fun stuff. Another thing you can do if you do get "ripped off" on ebay is report the seller on eBay, paypal, and www.ic3.gov which is a way to report internet crimes.,...even counterfeit items being sold on eBay. (I was given that site by a paypal rep!)

Again....the link to the Fitness Anywhere store on eBay is http://stores.shop.ebay.com/FitnessAnywhere__W0QQ_armrsZ1

While the prices are basically the same as on the online store here, at least you can know you are getting the real "SAFE" deal!!

I hope this helps and keeps consumers safe!! Sorry for the long post, but when you have a broken leg there is not much more to do than play on the computer and sit around........My TRX can't get here any faster! LOL!

Set-up and Use

This video will help get you started in setting up and using your TRX. This video covers how to properly anchor your TRX, lengthening and shortening the TRX, how to put it in Single Handle mode and getting your feet into the foot cradles.

I'm a former Navy EOD Diver (Reserves) and currently work as a Commercial Diver. 2 back to back knee injuries, coupled with middle age and some general laziness caused some weight gain/fitness loss at the same time. Go figure. The gym I belonged to, and many others I've visited, seem to be a combination sideshow/day care center - not for me. I love my job and need to bump the fitness level to continue doing it. This TRX is a great product, just a true workout without the bells and whistles. I'll update on my progress periodically.

Glad to be here.

I am ready to buy this great piece of equipment, but I'm unsure which program to start with. I have heard the All Body Express DVD may be a bit too easy, but the Force DVD may be a bit difficult starting out. I'm 23 and used to be a 3-sport athlete, but haven't been all that active for the past 2-3 years and have subsequestly lost a lot of my endurance and packed on about 30 lbs (6 ft. 240lbs). Looking for the best way to get back into form.

Between the standard home training bundle (and adding the train like the pros DVD for after I get acquainted) or the Force Bundle.

Any advice would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

I'm generally a fit guy, done five marathons and like to stay in shape and was looking for something new and challenging. As a runner I'd always been fairly lean (read: scrawny runt) but had started to do some upper body work in the last six months and am so excited to have some muscle to show!

I'd been looking at the TRX online for about a month before finally biting the bullet and ordering it, it arrived three days later and I was away. Have familiarised a bit with it and done the two strength workouts in the Force DVD. Definitely a challenge and something I can see been useful for a long time. I love the fact that I get the feeling of a full work out in half an hour using this, a real unique feeling for some one who runs up to 3 hours in training!

Any way keen to surf through the forums and see the advice and hints that more experienced users have suggested.

1. Is it correct that the X-Mount is the only way to attach to the ceiling?

2. Do I have to order the X-Mount separately or is it included in some of the packages? I think I saw somewhere that it was included in a package but now can't find that.

3. I couldn't find anything about how to actually attach the X-Mount to the ceiling. Are there instructions somewhere?

4. I'm living in a rental unit. Is the X-Mount removable from the ceiling?
the TRX Suspension Training System. I am pushing myself at the moment to get away from

an addiction that I have had for nearly 43 years. I smoke cigarettes, nearly 2 packs or more

daily. I am beginning to feel so very impressed by theTRX Suspension Training System, that I

truly believe I can quit smoking, and become much healthier using this system.

About 200 feet from my living there is what they call the Outlet Trail, that runs between

Keuka Lake (Penn Yan, NY) and Seneca Lake. On the first part of the trail there are a series

of chinning bars, rings, and situp devices. At the end of using these devices, I was sore but

content and anticipating the day that the TRX Suspension Training System will arrive in the mail. :)

At the end of August I will be purchasing one of the TRX Suspension Training System KIts.

A little note: 28 years ago I quit drinking, which was a "Snap" to trying to quit the addiction

to cigarettes that I have at the moment. "I WILL QUIT, I WILL QUIT"!

What would I do for my own 'gym in a bag'?

I would conquer my sleep/time issues with the 'gym in a bag' option. I've been doing P90X for 2 rounds (150 days) as of today. I'm preparing for an upcoming operation and I want to get as strong as possible so my recovery will go smoothly. The TRX seems like a great piece of equipment for post surgery work, as well.

I like the breakdown of exercises in P90X...body parts broken down by days with cardio and stretching mixed in. How are the exercises broken down in the TRX videos? I was looking at TRX Essential: Strength and Force. Are the cardio workouts mixed together in the same workout as the strength workouts, and are the upper body exercises separated from the lower body, etc.? I don't mean to compare the two-TRX vs. P90X- they are obviously very different. I'm relatively new to the intense workout thang and don't have much of a knowledge base or reference point to begin with.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

bill

Advice sought on Force vs. Essentials

I am now sold on the idea of TRX and am now trying to decide between getting the Home Training package or stepping up to Force. I am 54, 5'10" 170 lbs, and have been working out regularly since my teens. I run, cycle, or do weights at the gym probably 5 times a week, and am an avid skier. I've become bored with my workout routine and find myself just going through the motions now at the gym. My fitness level is good, but I'm not the solid rock I was when I was in my 30's and 40's. I'm not going out for the Special Forces, nor do I have any other real goal like doing triathalons other than to try to get back in great shape. Would the Force package be overkill, or too much to handle, for somebody like me? I do like that it comes with the X-anchor, which I would be buying anyway.
