    TRX vs Monkey Bar Gym

Anyone have any knowledge or opinions to share?  What is the difference between the TRX and Monkey Bar Gym's(Lifeline Fitness) Jungle Gym

Seems to me the Monkey Bar Gym uses the same idea of suspension training in parts of their workouts.  The workouts they post appear to be random and hard to rate progress, as with the TRX Force Program you do the same basic routine but increase the difficulty.  My take on it is that the TRX is for structure driven people while the Jungle Gym is more for the free spirits.  This is coming off a little bias because I am one of the structure driven people.  Sorry about that.

    Any one?????

Brad has done a great job of showcasing the difference and benefits of each.  Hopefully this can help answer some of your questions.

Re: TRX vs Monkey Bar Gym

Thanks!  I find it funny that Brad posted this "showcase" a few days after I asked the question.  I have the jungle gym and have been using the TRX Force workout book for workouts.  I really like what both TRX and Lifeline USA's Jungle Gym have to offer.  I have not seen the TRX in person and will have to take Brad's opinion.

The big thing that I've found is the difference in the structure of the workouts.  Anyone have any comments or experience with both?  Like I said before it seems like the TRX is more planned and organized, but then I don't know what kind of planning goes into the monkey bar gym schedule.  I guess I just like to know what is coming up.

Re: TRX vs Monkey Bar Gym

     Hi there,

I recently purchased a TRX, having had a Jungle Gym for some time, i have the version 2 JG. The big difference is really the build quality and as you have mentioned the structure of the work outs. The JG can be used for all the TRX workouts, there is no real problem there, and in some respects is more solid when used on a door frame due to the design, but for ease of use the TRX stands out, and it also has the footstraps as you know.

I prefer the TRX, but  hate the door anchor. Looking at Brads video it looks like its the earlier JG, as the JG2 has wider webbing and and the handles are padded similiar to the TRX. If i had to choose, then it would be the TRX, as its looks better from a clients perspective ( we are using the TRX to rehab patients at our medical practice here in the north of Scotland),  and is much easier to set up and has better structured work outs.

The problem from a consumers perspective here in the UK is that the JG2 is a quarter of the price of the TRX,and several of our patients have commented on that, but my reply is always if they can afford to purchase do so, and if not, look at the JG2, with them purchasing the TRX DVD's when they are ready to do so.
