I ordered my TRX system on Saturday and it should be here this week. I amin Canada and found a Canadian distributor so I saved on duty and brokerage.
The DVD it comes with is the "leg sculpting" workout? Is anyone familiar with it? I really wanted the Military workout but figured Iwould wait until my kit gets here.
I'm so stoked to try this!

What is Lifetime Fitness? Yea it's a TRX it was a distribuotr link under the company tab...glad I checked it out :)
I think I read the the descrition wrong it says:
TRX System Strap, Handles w/ Leg Shapers, DVD (TRX)
It's prbably an intro DVD (how to set up etc. I also got the door anchor since this version didn't come with it.
Best of luck to you with training too!

Congrats! I know I was excited when I got mine a little over a month ago. Mine came with the All Body XPress DVD. I just got the Home Training Bundle. Between hiking, and doing standard strength training, and metabolic circuits with the TRX, I've lost 14 lbs so far since last month, and that's exciting in itself. :)

Wow! 14lbs, That's awesome! Did you change your diet too?
I hope I have those kind of results too! I too will be incorporating it into my workout routine which is mainly weights and some cardio (which could use improvement). The friend of mine that told me about TRX said her HR was way up while she was doing it with her trainer....I'm excited!!

Yes I agree that is a big downfall with thegym. Or if you have a certain routine you want to follow but your next piece of equipmemt is being used etc. And don't get me started about the people just sitting on the equipment grrrrrrrrr.
I just tracked my TRX and it is out for delivery today so I just may get it for the weekend! WOOO! Is it normal to initially think your door frame will collapse? lol

Thank you! :) Yeah, I did change my eating habits. I hate to think of it as a diet, as every "diet" I've tried I've never stuck with. ;) Rather, a change in what I eat, how often, and how much when I do. Instead of 3 big meals a day, I'll eat 5 - 6 meals a day, being smaller portions. My eating routine is usually eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast with 2% milk and 1 cup of cereal so I can start taking in necessary protein and calcium for the day, then eat a banana usually a couple hours after that, and then within 2 - 3 hours eat a small meal and then take my vitamins for the day. After that, I am usually at work at that point, and I eat another piece of fruit which I switch it up to prevent getting bored. I've got cantaloupes, and ate 1/4 of a cantaloupe in one sitting, same with honeydew and watermelon. Other times, I'll get a grapefruit and eat halfs of it in single sittings, and other times I just go straight for the exotic fruits like mango and guava. I tend to steer away from oranges most days simply because it's too sticky, and I hate the mess :P. And another 2 - 3 hours later, I'll eat my last meal for the day. Sometimes when I get home from work I'll have a small light snack if I still feel hungry at that time, but varies from day to day. And then lastly, I go hiking 2 - 3 times a week, and each time go for about 5 - 10 miles round trip. In fact, just done a 10 mile hike on Monday. I also run ocassionally (I favor hiking, but running can be fun), and do the Metabolic Circuits http://community.fitnessanywhere.com/blogs/fraser_quelch/archive/2009/05/04/trx-metabolic-circuit-weeks-1-amp-2-workout-b.aspx. I am doing week 1 right now, and will move on to do the 4 sets next week. The advantage to doing both cardio and metabolic conditioning, is you are both burning carbs and calories before and after workout. Where cardio will burn calories only when you work out, and stop burning the second you stop working out. Metabolic conditioning on the other hand, you burn calories up to 48 hours after working out, or "afterburn". This is acheived by your body creating a metabolic response, which triggers various metabolic pathways in your body, transferred through muscle and tissue by means of a chemical called ATP. You accomplish Metabolc Conditioning by means of interval training, or very intense, high impact, short intervals such as those laid out in the Metabolic Circuits. Between the core conditioning, cardio, and metabolic conditioning, your body is turned into a fat burning machine. Even on days you don't necessarily have time to do go running or jogging, or hiking, just make sure you get at least 10,000 steps in a day. Once winter hits, which Utah is famous for, I am going to replace hiking with snowshoeing, which actually burns twice as many calories. I don't even want to think about winter yet though, it should be a 4 letter word! :P One suggestion I could make is keep a journal of your progress. A good resource for that is http://www.fitnessjournal.com. Additionally, you can create a blog. I personally decided to keep a journal through a form of a blog, which I post to everyday. Another thing you want to do, is set a goal. How much weight do you want to loose? What is your timeframe for losing it? Set that goal, and stick to it. I made a 6 month goal to loose 60 pounds starting in late April. So that meant I had to break it down to a weekly value for myself, which meant I had to loose approximately 2.5 pounds every week. So far, I've lost 14 of that 60 pounds. Just set goals, and stick to them, and be faithful to yourself, and you can achieve anything. If you want to look at the progress I've made and making, you can read my blog at http://blog.gettingfitnaturally.com. Good luck!

LOL Yes, that thought initially crossed my mind, but has never happened so thats good. ;) Just use a door that is relatively solid (most bedroom doors, front/back doors, bathroom doors, etc...). Don't use closet doors, as they surely will collapse. If you think the door doesn't have enough mass to it to support your bodyweight, then put the door anchor right above the hinge in the door on the side. :)

LOL, it's all good. Some of those shows are awesome. It's beneficial to eat less, more frequently because it helps digest the food faster, and, it also helps your body burn off excess carbs and calories. Now your body needs a certain amount of calories, as calories are actually the primary source of energy for the body, but its those extra calories we don't actually need that get stored as fat. Anyway, I'm just soundling like an open book now :P , but yeah I think you'll do great. Just make a plan and stick to it, and nothing will get in your way :D If I can ever help with anything, just let me know.

JM and Max....
thanks for your input, ideas and experiences. I have been reading on some of the reviews that when people first got theit trx they thought it looked much easier than what it was. And this is what I want something that will kick my butt again! I have been weight training for so long now that I was searching for a more challenging workout. A friend of mine from another online forum posted her workout on a TRX she did with her trainer and I was so intrigued. She said it TOTALLY kicked her butt. So that's what Im hoping for :)
I'll probably start up a journal too...

I'll probably start up a journal too... Glad we were able to help and give some insight. :) It'll be an awesome challenge. Just lost another 2 lbs this week, so that's pretty exciting. Just bought the Flexibility DVD today too, so that will be good. Yeah I think a journal really helps in being successful, so you can look back later and see the changes, as they are subtle from day to day, but then looking back at those few ounces you may loose a day all contributes to all those pounds you loose, and all that muscle you gain. Just remember, for every 16 oz you loose, you loose a whole pound. So the little crumbs will take away the whole cookie! :P I know write my blog to inspire both myself, and others, and can see the transformation. I took a photo of my at the beginning on April 20th I think it was, at 248.2, and today I am 233.0 even. I plan on taking a shot of myself every three months, which will come up around July 20th, so that will be exciting. Just like "What about Bob", baby steps! :P Yeah the TRX is awesome and fun, and doesn't hurt your muscles like free weights. So officially, "welcome to the challenge!". The 40/40 challenge is coming out, which is 40 atomic pushups, which I plan on using the TRX and Perfect Pushups, and 40 low rows. I know I'm up for the challenge! :D
