can P90x Workout be done with only the TRX suspension?

I've just won a TRX system on e-bay and plan on using it on my P90x workout.  The thing is, I don't know whether it's possible to stimulate "heavy pants" and back fly/shoulder fly on the TRX trainer?

heavy pants is when one is bringing the weight (usually barbells) from the floor up to the side near chest and then back down.

Back fly/Shoulder fly is similar to heavy pants, except it's done while sitting at the edge of the chair and squezing the shoulder blades together.

Is this something that can be done using TRX trainer or should I also buy the dumbells if I want to stick with P90X routine?

    Thanks,

I did P90X a few years ago and from what I remember you could do most of the workouts with the TRX. I think you could get a very similar movement to the back fly/shoulder fly on the TRX. As for heavy pants you could use resistance bands for that move or subsitute it with something else on the TRX. To add to the difficulty as you progress you can add the bands, a weight vest and kettlebells to the workouts too. P90X and the TRX are both great home workouts so by combining the two you should get great results.

I am not completely familiar with the P90X system, but I know most of those exercises can be done on the TRX. An excellent resource to use is the Video Library. On the top of the site, mouse over "CONNECT", and you'll see a Media Gallery section in the menu. Click on Videos under that.

    Hope this helps. Big Smile

    Thanks,

What exercise on TRX will most resemble P90X lawnmowers?

Thanks, I'll check out the videos.  What I would like is a structure.

Such as, Day 1 - do this, Day 2, etc...

Those "Lawnmowers" look just like single arm rows to me... Smile

There a couple things you could for those; Back Rows/Low Rows (Low Rows are the same, but you are at a "deep" angle), or Power Pulls which is essentially Single Arm Rows. I believe all of those are in the Video Library. If not, let me know and I'll do a couple quick vids, and upload them to YouTube, and embed them here.
