    New to TRX

Can you give me some tips on where and how to start the TRX training? I purchased the essentials bundle. I am 52, and not in real great shape and want to loose about 25 pounds. Some kind of training schedule for the first month would be helpful.

    thanks,

    Dennis

    Re: New to TRX

It's difficult to make a schedule without knowing you, so i can give you a guideline, but not really a day by day plan.

Start off with the flexibility DVD. This is far from taxing, more relaxing. It will get you used to using the TRX, which can be quite a challenge at first. So just use that for the first couple of weeks, when you should start to feel confident on the DVD, then intergrate the Strength DVD. After a couple of weeks of just those two DVDs you can start on the cardio circuit.

I don't know how many times a week you want to work out, but if it's say 3 times, then you can do like this:

week one: Flex Mon, Wed, Fri
week two & three: flex mon & fri, strength Wed
week four: flex mon, cardio wed, strength fri.

    Re: New to TRX

You say that you want to use 25 pounds that is a great weight loss  goal.  The strength dvd is one that helps with the progressions, which go from easy to more advanced.  That would be good once you get used to the system and want to start strength training with the system.  You can maybe do the strength on M,W,and F, and some of the flexibility dvd exercises right after.  You can do some cardio on Tues. and Thursdays like walking. Walking is one of the easiest cardio exercises a person can do. You can rest on sat. and sun. and start the routine again on mon.  if you want I can suggest what foods to eat and what not to eat since I am an nutrition major at college.  Please let me know if the plan would be good for you.

Even if a person started late,
It's okay as long as you don't procrastinate,
So get out there and do it.
