A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED (BY EBAY!!!)
Hi!! I am new to the TRX and the boards. I recently purchased a TRX online......and while I did not get the system from Fitness Anywhere it is a legit product. I had an issue where the straps are slipping through the cambuckles so the product is not usable. I know this is a product directly from Fitness Anywhere because I have compared it to one ordered directly from them. I have heard other people have the strap/cambuckle issue so I know it is a common defect in the product. Well, i called customer support and I was dissappointed that unless you spend $200 on the product from Fitness Anywhere, the product is not warranted. I got the old "well there are a lot of counterfeit products out there." If I were going to copy the system, I would not make it exactly the same thread for thread! The people that I bought this from bought a bulk number of the systems directly from Fitness Anywhere and he is having trouble getting the defective one replaced!!
I have bought many products from stores that the manufacturer honors if there is an issue so, why the flack from Fitness Anywhere? If i were Fitness Anywhere I would at least have the customer send in the product and then make a determination on whether the product is fake and if it is then jump on the whole "counterfeit" conclusion.
I am not knocking the product at all because it is a great concept, and I read nothing but great things about the "PRODUCT." Why not start putting a small certificate of authenticity in the box so that if you do buy the product elsewhere the guarantee can be honored!! I could understand if I called and said a strap broke or something outrageous, but the straps are slipping which is a VERY common problem with the product!!
Anyway, once I get a working TRX, I will repost when I can start working out again. I recently broke my leg and I am looking forward to using the TRX to keep me on track to my goal of toning up and slimming down. Gonna be a lot of one legged workouts ahead of me!!!
Anyway, thanks for reading, and remember.....I am not knocking the product, just the monopoly that seems to have been set up by the company!

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
Welcome to the community.
I understand the situation, it's unfortunate.
I know different companies will have a different policy for those types of situations.
Because of that specifically, it is worth paying the extra amount, whatever the difference is of cost and buying directly from Fitness Anywhere.
Another event that is occuring is people who do not purchase the DVD's from Fitness Anywhere, and the majority of the time do not get the guides with it. In which I am fairly positive those selling the DVD's buy them from Fitness Anywhere, then copy the DVD using CloneDVD or similar, then sell the original and keep the guide, so they can make up for part of the cost of the DVD.
Now in either case, it's unfortunate that the end consumer, just as yourself end up suffering in the process.
The TRX is an excellent product, and has dynamically changed the way I workout, and I've never went back myself. Although the initial $150 seems a bit overboard, however considering the cost of all the machines you'd have to purchase to work all those muscles and/or the longterm cost of an annual gym membership, it more than pays for itself.
In any case, I hope you were able to get this issue resolved somehow.
Thanks,
Justin

If you purchased the TRX from a legitimate retailer, I would recommend that you pressure them to replace it. Fitness Anywhere has a business model where they sell direct to consumers. While that may not be ideal for you, it has worked well for them and lots of consumers. All of the products I've purchased from Fitness Anywhere have been flawless, and the customer support has been as well.
If I bought a car from a local Ford dealer and had a problem, I would contact the dealer. I wouldn't start calling Ford headquarters in Detroit, and complaining about their customer service. And if I bought a car from some guy who said he purchased a bunch of Fords so he could sell them on the cheap, I definitely wouldn't try calling Detroit.
I hope you get your situation resolved, as it really is a great product. Good luck.

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
When I started to look for my own TRX, I looked to get the
cheapest one I could find. I check on
e-bay and was willing to buy one through auction. I realized that buying from FA directly was
the best choice. When I bought it, I was
able to take advantage of free shipping, as well as, an affiliate code, which
was a $20 gift card from FA. I felt that
I had no guarantee that what I was going to buy off of e-bay was a not a
fake. Just for my sense of mind, I bought
directly from FA. Also, for registering my product I was able to extend the
warranty on my TRX for an additional year.
This is what worked for me, I do hope you get you situation
resolved. Good luck!

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
I understand that the company may have people copying the product, but to automatically claim it to be counterfeit is rediculous to me. this is a legit product down to the packaging and the fold out workout guides. the person that I bought this from bought them directly from fitness anywhere in bulk and resold them at a VERY small profit. He is currently working with Fitness Anywhere to resolve the issue because of the 20 he sold.....30% of them had this issue. I sent in a video of the slipping straps and everything and currently waiting for the seller to replace the defective part which he may have soon worked out with Fitness Anywhere. The seller was Matt Sasko.
Thanks for the welcome and replies. I did get a very good deal on the product and paid about $40 less for it because the seller gave me a military discount. I wish a rep from Fitness anywhere could see the product I have and see where they can say it is counterfeit. I think that is really my only gripe. Why waste time copying the product when it surely can be improved and marketed as a NEW product? While it is an extraordinary fitness tool, anything can be improved. The first thing would be the straps being a glossy type of material......shoot for a cotton type webbing where you would be sure to have less, if any, slippage.
Anyway, I can't wait to have the issue resolved by the seller so that I can get to work. It has been one week since I had broken my leg, and 1 legged pushups get a little boring!! I had lost 22 pounds in about 1-1.5 months with a great cardio light weight workout I put together myself. Now, with my limited mobility in a 3 story house!!!, I am eager to get going again and hopefully put a few weeks of workouts under my belt so i can maybe put a workout blog together for people in similar situations so that they may have something to keep them going and to keep from getting bored to death!! You can only play Call of Duty 5 so much!!

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
LOL, I don't think I've ever played CoD yet. I was going to get CoD 4 through my Steam account on my Vista gaming box so I coud use DirectX 10 with it, but decided on Crysis instead.
But I'm glad to hear you were able to get this resolved with the distributor.
It sucks that people do things in the world that ruin it for the rest of us, in a general sense. But, that's just how it is I suppose.
That broken leg has got to be a killer though, since Suspension Training in general makes you use your legs for either stability or resistance...
Hope it gets feeling better soon!
Did you fracture the bone itself, or damage a ligament or tendon?

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
Well, I figured that using the TRX with one leg will make the workouts more intense......maybe too intense!! LOL!!
I fractured the Fibula, broke a small section in the back of the tibia (they said would heal on its' own), and the ligament that holds the Fibula and Tibia together at the bottom is gone!!! My foot is also subluxed, so it is set back about 1/8"! It was all from one game of basketball! Our unit had a small tournement against another Coast Guard unit in Arlington last Thursday and of course it didn't end up being too fun for me! We did win the tourney though!! LOL! I am supposed to have surgery next week sometime to get a plate and 2 screws in the Fubula and a pin through the fibula and Tibia. After 8 weeks I get the pin removed and get a hard cast for a few more weeks. It is pretty painfull at times, but with a 3 story house, I get a workout when I go up and down the stairs!!
Hopefully this seller pulls through soon though. I am ready to start.
Thanks for the well wishes!

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
That it does. Like the Suspended Lunge is way harder than the Balance Lunge.
The tibia and fibula; ouch! It's not real convenient to break any bones, but those 2 are some of the worst ones to break, as they provide a lot of stabilty to the body of course both being in the lower leg and all...
I guess when someone said "go break a leg" before the game, they weren't kidding eh'?

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
Bad thing is that I kept telling a couple of guys that were bugging me to play, that I did not really want to play because I hadn't played in almost 6 months and I did not want to get hurt!! LOL!
I had just gotten my 5 mile run down to 45 minutes so now I am going to have to start from scratch on that and probably move on to the bike! Looks like 11 mile rides are in my future now!
I have pics of my TRX that I want to post on the "Fake TRX" thread. Will you be able to do anything if you see that it is the real deal or is it pointless?
Thanks!!

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
Yeah, one of those "gut feelings" that get ignored, and we pay for it...
I think a 5 mile bike ride would be just as sufficient as a 5 mile run, aside from taking out the impact and the potential plyometric elements being you have to lift your feet during the run.
Yeah, go ahead and take a pic of your TRX, and I'll do the same of mine when my batteries charge, and see if we can distinguish any differences and such.

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
Here is my link to my photobucket album. I just took these tonight and made the album.......I would really like to get a replacement strap with cambuckles because of the slipping. I really don't think it matters where you buy it from.....as long as it is the real deal which this is.

That gives away how it is fake, the TRX strap is hardly gloss at all, only part of the door anchor is glossy. The straps actually are a cotton type webbing.

Re: A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED
Well i have been working with the seller who said he would replace the system, but I have sent him a request to refund my purchase. I will be purchasing direct from FA as soon as I get my money back.
Thank you Justin and FA for your help!!!
