I will pass this on to Customer service in the morning to give the official word, but it is a fake.

    All,

The best way to tell if you have a fake is if you bought it at a "deal" that seemed to good to be true.  If anyone tells you that it is brand new and they bought in bulk to be able to sell you at such a discount... they are lying.  If you look at their account and they have several brand new TRXs for sale at various prices or all of them are discounted heavily... they are fake.

A Genuine TRX is made with high quality material to ensure a safe workout environment.  The people who counterfeit the TRX are just out to make a quick buck and are only trying to make something that looks like a TRX.  They do not have quality or safety in mind and these inferior products are dangerous.

If you suspect you have a fake, you probably do Tongue Tied.

What can you do?  First, if you can provide photos, customer service will be able to tell if you have a fake or not.  J.K.'s photos are a good example.  Second, contact PayPal and eBay or what ever site you bought from and let them know that the person you bought from sold you a counterfeit and that you want your money back.  PayPal and eBay have policies on this type of thing.

Also... be sure to post your review on the seller's profile :).

I usually don't swear much online, but damnit, this just pisses me off how these people sell these fake units, having no care for peoples safety! Angry

What if you were a kid or an ederly person and fell back. Just imagine the higher potential for injury there. Ugh... makes me want to bust out some Muay Thai on them. Guess I'm glad I'm going to train tomorrow to blow off this steam... Stick out tongue

I think when I get home, I'm going to record a vid and throw it up on YouTube to help others prevent this.

I had a friend buy a TRX off ebay recently. I just hope his wasn't a fake too...

Anyway, that's my venting and 2 cents for the night... Wink

    GunnySpook:

Did FA ever supply the Force Bundle with yellow straps?

I got a Force Bundle direct from FA about 3 months ago, and the straps are khaki.  Also the two rubber labels are "TRX" and "Tactical", *NOT* "Professional".

    The Gunny

No, the Force Kit never came with yellow straps. They are khaki like you said. And it does say Tactical as opposed to Professional to make you feel special with the force kit I guess... Stick out tongue

It sounds like you got the real deal.

No, the force was always olive drab. And correct about the labels, just like mine which is over 2 years old, and I have never suffered slippinf buckles.

Mine is closer to JK's than to Justin's, but I see some differences from even his.  But if a real one looks exactly like Justin's, then mine is a fake too.

    Major suckage...

Yeah the real TRX's will look exactly like mine. I bought mine directly from fitnessanywhere.com back in April of this year.

It sounds like you also have a fake. That does really suck, I'm sorry man.

I know the $150 up front cost seems overwhelming, but as you can see here, it is worth the cost. But consider it this way; the cost of a gym membership: $50 a month on average. Cost of weight bench, weights, locking clips, weight belts, etc... $200 - $300. Cost of other specialized machines to work specific muscle groups: hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Cost of TRX: $150. Cost of not getting hurt with a real TRX? Priceless. (sorry I just had to do it Stick out tongue )

WOW....That MF'er!! Thanks Justin and FA.com! Hopefully I can get my money back and purchase directly from FA.com soon.

On ebay the seller was Matt Sasko under mattbob345. Maybe you guys can have him reported, but please wait until I get my money back!! LOL!!

It's not so much that the cost was overwhelming, but who doesn't like to save money when you can.  And I've never really had any problems on ebay before this.

I e-mailed the seller and he said return it for a refund, so he obviously knew it was counterfeit.  Now, the question is, can I expect a lying counterfeiter to return my money?  lol

Expect to see me back next week, working out with the real thing.

I definitely will be getting the real deal. I am going to probably get the FORCE since that model gets a military discount and so for a few bucks I can get pretty much everything.

Never had trouble on ebay before this......I guess there are somethings that need to be researched first. I though I had looked into things well enough before deciding to go the ebay route on this, but apparently not. I can find at least 10 people selling this on ebay that are probably selling fakes!!

Oh well, stuff happens I guess.......

Glad I got to play Sherlock Holmes in the case of the Fake TRX! LOL

But yeah, glad I could help.

Bill, call ebay like FA suggested and get your money back, as your chances on a refund from the seller are probably slim. Wink

    Justin,

The resolution of your photos were so bad I really couldn't tell between what you call a fake TRX and the real TRX.  Can you post some better images.

Sorry you for those of you who got taken.  I would just go straight to PayPal and get your money back like jeepr92 did.

Did you actually have to (in paypal terms) 'escalate it to a claim' ?  Or just dispute the charge?
