Well, I disputed the transaction on paypal, and once the seller said he would send a replacement I closed it out. Now the seller is not responding to emails and paypal will not let me re-open the dispute!! They told me to contact the credit card company and dispute the charge, but now the credit card company will not refund the charge unless I have someone affiliated with FA or any fitness equipment store/company send me a letter stating that the product I have is defective. They said do not dispute based on the product not being authentic because the seller never said that it was "authentic." Even the e-mail I have from the seller saying that the TRX is "NOT COUNTERFEIT" will not work because he is not saying that it is authentic.

Would anyone from FA.com be willing to receive a video of me using the TRX.....well the straps slip so there is no using about it.....and send me a letter on letterhead stating that the product is defective and of POOR quality and is unsafe to use without evben mentioning counterfiet? they told me to not even say counterfeit because that will not work because we are disputing the defectiveness and quality of the product itself. After that the will refund my money, so I can buy a REAL TRX, and go after the seller.

If any FA rep can help, It would be very much appreciated. I will feel weird going to a place like Sports Authority or any other fitness store to ask them to use it and type a quick letter. I feel more associated with you all than them.

Thanks for any help if you can!!

I can't tell......yours does have that "gloss" to the fabric, but the tags look like the real deal because one says "Professional" and the other I assume says "TRX?"

Justin would be able to tell you by looking at the string on the cambuckle and slider probably.

The images he posted on the websight are so bad.  I can't tell what details to look for.  Can someone else post photos of a "Real" TRX.  Thanks

FWIW, I filed a dispute with Paypal this afternoon and had a full refund within a couple of hours.  The guy I bought mine from sold probably 100 in a couple of weeks, so he may have had other complaints.

    Justin,

The resolution of your photos were so bad I really couldn't tell between what you call a fake TRX and the real TRX.  Can you post some better images.

LOL It's not the best camera in the world. Only a 6MP. I took some more today, see if they turn out better. Wink

Jeepr2 -- That's awesome. Glad to hear they got you taken care of. Big Smile

If my TRX trainer is fake.  It is a really good fake.  It has the same functionality to what would be considered a "real" one and works great.

I don't understand why a "real" TRX trainer would cost $150 when it is such a simple product.  I am sure the bands on my TRX could support at least 300 pounds.  Why would you need a TRX trainer to support 500 to 1000 pounds?

Yeah, it's definitely a fake. Like the others, the stitching isn't reinforced, and the thread looks a lot weaker. The Suspension Anchor not looking at anything else, has an upside down emblem.

And again, the loop on the back of the buckles is stitched at the very bottom of the material that wraps around the strap, which could cause them to give at some point.

My advice is to get your money back by getting a hold of ebay, and then just getting the real deal. Although it has not happened yet, I would really advise on getting it replaced with a real unit to prevent any future injuries.

I'd suggest the Home Training Bundle, which gives you both the door and suspension anchor at a lower cost than buying th door anchor separately.

My fake looked just fine to me.  In fact, if the DVD hadn't been defective, I probably would have never known the difference.  But I paid for what I thought was the real thing.  I never had a chance to see if it actually worked the same.

As far as the cost, if people are buying them for $150, what would be the incentive to sell them for less?

I definitely understand the cost concern, and I wished I could answer that. Perhaps they'll consider lowering the price at some point, but who's to say.

The real advantage to having on official TRX is knowing that the product can endure all kinds of abuse you throw at it. Each unit they put through vigorous testing to make sure it exceeds even military standards, and they are strict about safety and quality requirements on anything used in the military.

As far as 500 - 1000 lbs of weight goes, well I don't know the official answer, but I would probably say its because people of all walks of life; tall, short, fat, skinny, muscular atrophic, muscular hypertrophic, etc... can all use the TRX. So someone 6' 500 lbs and someone 5' 4" 130 lbs an both use it just the same. Their athletic and endurance levels will of course be different, and thus will depend on what exercises at what intensity they can safely do, but aside from that the TRX will function for everyone just the same.

A good example is the TRX was used in Season 6 of the Biggest Loser, since they didn't have as much gym time or something. Well you know those people are obese or morbidly obese. If the TRX couldn't support 500 - 1000 lbs, it wouldn't have been used. So really it's so everyone can use it, which is a superb business plan. Wink

Anyhow, that's my 2¢ on that...
