If you don't want to get the updates from the other competitors go to "Edit Profile" at the top of the page and click on the email tab to modify notifications.

It's hit or miss.  The cam buckles do set it off in certain airports- I did not have a problem in SF but had a problem in Ft Lauderdale so you never know.  Best to have it out and easily available so they don't have to go rummaging through your bag as they did mine.
