Louise Lee, of Lithial Ltd., consistently leaders her team to our affilites' winner circle each quarter. Key to her sales success: A big belief in the TRX and a savvy, consumer-focused website. Louise has tried, tested and refined lots of marketing ideas and shares her strategies and secrets here.

What do you consider to be the secret of your success as an Affiliate?

I think this is about promoting something which you actually believe in and would use yourself. It's much easier to be motivated to create a site and dedicate the time it takes to create the content if you have an interest in it. I've made this mistake in the past and created sites for topics I didn't really care about and they always fell by the wayside. When I'm genuinely into a topic into turns into a research project and I enjoy learning about it, the product of which is usually a niche site with unique content. I usually measure my sites by my own interest and whether I would find them useful.

Do you have a fitness background? If so, how has this helped you as a TRX Affiliate?

Fitness to me is a hobby, it's something I care about and pursue in my spare time. I enjoy learning about it and try to stay in good shape and whilst I'm not a fitness professional I do think that this helps with the sites I create because I can relate to the average person who wants to get in shape and put things in laymen's terms.

What different methods of communication do you employ to generate referral sales? Which do you find to be the most effective?

Our site isn't that old and there's still a lot more we want to do with it. At the moment we experiment with some paid advertising but this is very hit and miss and we try to focus on the search engine optimisation side of things by generating unique content. To this end we have recently put in place a Wordpress blog on the site and a database driven exercise directory and intend on writing more articles for stronger listings in the search engines.

We don't capture any user data or use mailing lists at the moment but this is something we have found really effective in the past. If you can create a decent user base who keep revisiting your site and posting on forums / blogs and building a community, your site will be successful. This is our ultimate goal.

How have you specifically used your website to promote the TRX?

The site is built around suspension training and bodyweight exercise and the TRX in our opinion is the ultimate tool for doing this. The website promotes the TRX in a "Featured Products" section and is used throughout the exercise directory. We've also posted reviews on the product and added one or two of the Fitness Anywhere banners.

What advice would you share with other TRX affiliates to help them make the sales and earn commissions?

Always think about things from the consumers perspective. Put yourself in their shoes and imagine what it is they are looking for and don't overly sell to them. In my opinion, for an affiliate site there is nothing worse than a page full of banners with the sole intention of referring the visitor on to another place. If you create a valuable user resource then sales will be a natural by-product.

What is the one most important thing an affiliate can do to make the sale?

Consider your target user base and create useful content aimed at these visitors.

I'm out of shape and I'll be the first to admit it. I do jog/run at least every other day for at least 45 minutes. My question is what kind of results can I expect to see in the coming weeks from using the TRX along side of my running? I plan to step up to running every day/evening for at least my 45 minutes. I know where I would like to be 3 months from now as far as the way that I look. However, I also realize that individual bodies react differently to exercise than others. I guess... generally speaking... what kind of results (physical appearance, muscle size, running endurance, etc) would be realistic for me to expect to see 1 month from now... 2 months from now.... etc? Thanks.

Re: How do I measure my success?

TMT-

I'm assuming you're in the military where functional strength is needed everday in your job. I'm going to share with you the input I recieved from a soldier who staes his measurement for success is based on sustained performance in the field.

Since using the TRX, I have completely eradicated my lower back and knee pain as well as increasing my pushups by 20% and reducing my run time by 10%. By capitalizing on the principle of instability, all TRX exercises force the user to engage their core and increase their balance. Additionally, TRX exercises focus on developing coordinated muscle effort. Instead of lifting weights in a single plane, TRX exercises incorporate multiple body parts and multiple planes into a single motion, thus mimicking the way that a Soldier uses his/her body in combat and in life. A strong core allows Soldiers to maintain their posture with heavy body armor and properly move their body through the battlefield without straining their back. The increased balance is absolutely critical, especially in areas of rough terrain, such as here in Afghanistan. Finally, muscular balance and coordination reduces injuries and increases the Soldier's ability to apply functional strength to their daily tasks.
