Our country has a major problem that unfortunately is stemming from a very young age. As a youth football coach, I see more children coming into camp out of shape and it is very sad. The TRX is a great way for kids to be safely introduced to a strength and conditioning program. Many of my players have seen me working with the TRX System at the field with my son and have become very interested in what we were doing. If I am selected I would use the TRX with our players to introduce them to basic excercise and show them how to have fun with the system and to show their parents how easy it is to get their children excited to excercise.

I started the year by establishing a new workout routine and I am ready for something new. Also, I have used Jillian Michaels's videos and now I want to try something that Bob Harper uses :)

Why I Deserve to Win the "TRX Gym in A Bag"

I cried when I saw "The Biggest Loser's" Bob Harper touting the "TRX Gym In A Bag", on last weeks show.

I have worked out almost my entire life, from 7 years of dance training, to being a fitness buff long into middle age. The last fitness event I remember participating in was the 1996 New Years Eve 5K run in San Francisco, CA. ,Even though there was a sleeting rain, my husband and I had a great run, and ran it in about 22:00. We also cycled a lot, I worked out twice a day, cycled 20 miles everyother day, and we usually were able to squeeze in fitness runs periodically. I was 46 years old wheh we took a trip to Hawaii, and was surprised by many young women coming up to me to inquire how I had achieved my "brick abs", but I took a great deal of pride in my body through fitness, healthy meals, and an absolutely joy of life.

However, in July of that year, I became critically ill when a bowel obstruction burst. I was in a coma for 2 1/2 months, hospitalized for many, many months, and bed-ridden for almost 5 years. It seemed as though I was going to live the rest of my life in a physical prison. I knew I had to take personal control of my life again, if I was to overcome all of this The most important goal in my life has been to get back in shape and "get back on my feet" again.. I began in small steps, weining myself off of the oxygen, doing yoga, meditation, followed eventually with some Pilates, etc. However, It was extremely difficult, if not impossible for me to get back to my original fitness, as I was unable to perform the standard lunge, push-ups, etc.To put it simple, my feet was the problem, and the very "wall" I was having difficulty getting over. I always thought I could overcome anything, the fact that parts of my toes on both feet had been amputed when I was in my coma, was a "real obsticle course" for me, because your toes help keep you balanced. It is impossible to perform many exercises like lunges, push-ups, etc., without using your toes. Most ofthe exercises in my fitness routines, had required balance, including simple running.

That is why I cried. The " TRX Gym In A Bag" was the answer to my physical limitation. I saw that it could help with the issue of balance, by distributing my weight off of the balls of my feet. I woiuld be beyond thrilled to be working out again, there has never been a question of "self-motivation" on my part, and I feel I truly deserve to win the "TRX Gym in A Bag."

My husband would love to have his fitness and tandem partner back, something we thought would never be possible again.

Why I deserve the gym in a bag....

I am 37 yrs old and have 4 children. I am hypothryoid and have struggled for years to lose weight. I have been with weight watchers, First place, done food journals, excercised and still struggle to lose the weight. I have developed hight blood pressure and have knee problems and struggle with occasional budlging discs in my back. After seeing this, I believe this would be a low impact excercise equipment that I could use to strengthen my muscles in my back and lose the middle bulge that I have. I weigh the same as I did when I delivered my first son nearly 16 years ago. While pregnant with my other children, I would lose 30 lbs only to have it come back. My body does the opposite-- lose weight in pregnancy and gain after. I have zero metabolism and am tired of struggling. I also think this would be a fun way of excercising for my whole family. This is something I can do with my children and they can stay healthy as well.

What I would do for my own 'gym in a bag'.

As a testament to "what I would do for my own gym in a bag" I would keep a photo journal of "before and after" pictures for six months of using the TRX. At the end of the commitment, I would post it for others to be inspired.
